Episode III  Padme OOAK costumes for dolls

Padme's Water Gown

                

Having seen the incredibly beautiful gown worn by Padme as she lies in state in her "Water Gown" in Star Wars Episode III, I wanted to make an outfit for one of my dolls that captured the moment for me.  I made my own little version of Padme's gown, inspired by the original but on a tiny scale to fit my petite Barbie Leah doll (I thought the name was an excellent coincidence and fitting tribute!!).

Made of fine cotton fabrics and adorned with hand beading, ribbons, sequins and tiny flowers, I am pleased with the gown and cape but am more surprised that the photos appear to show Barbie Leah with tears in her eyes, although of course she should really be depicted with her eyes closed. 

This outfit is smaller than the others I made for my larger Tonner Tyler dolls, but I have included these pictures just to record my respect and total admiration for the designers of the costumes from the Star Wars films.
