Padme's Revelation Gown

Inspired by the gorgeous outfit seen in Star Wars Episode III, this is one of my very favourite outfits that I've ever made for my Tonner Tyler 40cm doll. It is made from deep burgundy pure silk dupion, darkest oxblood browny-purple silk velvet, and purple silk crepe. The front and shoulder panels of the over-cloak were a sheer labour of love, being richly hand embroidered and appliqued with hand-dyed burgundy organza diamond shapes and satin ribbon pieces in an attempt to achieve the look of the original but on a tiny scale. The collar and cuffs of the under-dress were hand beaded with hundreds of tiny lilac and purple glass seed beads in various shades. The headdress was crafted from faux leather, into which I cut slits, and to which I attached a woven saran hair braid either side held securely in place with a purple gem.
