Arwen style Coronation Gown

Arwen's original gown from Lord Of The Rings

I made my flowing pale green gown for my Tonner Tyler 40cm doll from the reverse side of a silky satin fabric. My one-of-a-kind handsewn creation was inspired by the stunning Coronation Gown worn by Arwen in the Lord Of The Rings film. I used embroidered net for the underskirt, sleeves and bodice insert, and silver braid for decoration. My favourite part of the outfit is the headdress... I created my one for Tyler from silver plated jewellery wire, which I twisted and manipulated with my teensy long-nosed pliers into a delicate crown, carefully securing and hiding any ends of the wire as I went, for safety.  I then attached silver threads onto which I sewed hundreds of tiny pale green and clear glass seed beads.
