I was born in South London just over 40 years ago, and recently graduated with a BSc (Hons) as a mature student (yipee!). It took years of hard work, but was immensely enjoyable. My interest in science originates from my love of all things Sci-Fi, especially Star Wars and other films of that genre which my Dad used to take me to see. My persistence to achieve my degree was also fuelled by my experiences gleaned from backpacking around the world for a year, amongst other things. Throughout my working life (as a directors' PA and more recently as a Computing Helpdesk Analyst), it has been said that I was "an atypical secretary", "not of this era", and - my favourite one -"away with the fairies"... What can they mean ?! Ha! 

This obviously brings me to my love of dolls and all things creative...

My sewing skills are inherited from both sides, but mainly from my Gran who instilled in me an obsession with all things beautiful, magical and sparkly!  Being creative is first nature to me - I design and jot down notes all the time, as my head is always buzzing with ideas; I am inspired by almost anything, anywhere, anytime!
